Luxury Picnics

A Paula picnic is a full table setting, not a blanket and a basket. You get a low wooden table, plush cushions, rugs, real plates, cotton napkins, candles and fresh flowers, all set up before you arrive and packed away after you leave.

Paula also helps you choose the spot. She talks through the pros and cons of each park, beach and backyard with you and knows the quieter lakefront corners where the skyline view is yours instead of the crowd’s. If the forecast turns, she moves your date rather than leaving you on wet grass. Guests celebrating at Belmont Harbor have watched passersby stop to photograph their table. You simply walk up, sit down and celebrate.

Proposal Setups

You only get to ask once, and Paula plans your proposal that way. She builds the setup around your story, coordinates every detail with you quietly so the surprise holds, and has the flowers, candles and cushions in place before you and your partner walk up.

Couples have asked the question at her picnic tables on the lakefront, in parks and in their own backyards. If you want it private, she will suggest a quieter spot. If you want the skyline, she knows where to find it. The result is one picture you will look at for the rest of your life. All you bring is the ring.

Balloon Decorations

Your balloon installation should look like the picture you saved, not a bunch of balloons taped to a wall. Paula designs custom arches, organic garlands, backdrops, marquee numbers and centerpieces in your exact colors, then installs them at your home or venue.

She has built a 50th birthday in navy and gold, an under-the-sea first birthday, a New Year’s Eve photo wall and First Communion backdrops lettered in Polish for Northwest Side families near her Jefferson Park home base. Because the same designer also styles your tables and flowers, everything in the room matches instead of competing. One plan, one setup, one finished room for your guests to walk into.

Venue Decorations

A rented room only becomes your room when the tables, flowers and backdrop are designed together. Paula styles restaurants, banquet halls and private dining rooms with garden-style fresh flower arrangements, layered tablescapes, draped and floral backdrops, welcome signs and candlelight.

Restaurants trust her too. She arranges fresh flowers for private events at Eden in Roscoe Village and has styled dinners in glass-roofed conservatories and high-rise rooms with downtown views. Everything is placed before your guests arrive and taken down after, so you never carry a vase home. When picnic season ends, the same eye moves indoors for Thanksgiving tables, Christmas décor and Valentine’s Day setups.

Hi, I’m Paula.

My business started with luxury picnics in Chicago and grew from one idea: your celebration should look like you, not like a package. Today I design picnics, proposals, balloon installations and venue décor for birthdays, showers, First Communions, weddings and small businesses across the city and suburbs.

I personally design every setup, choose the flowers and colors with you, and I am there on the day to make sure every detail is right.
